Beth Bowen (RYT-200, CPT) - Beth has been practicing yoga since 2002. She grew up participating in competitive sports which carried into college as a downhill ski racer and soccer player. Beth’s love for exercise led her to Telluride, Colorado where she squeezed a couple of years in as a ski bum and where she met her husband, Andy. She moved to Boulder in a quest to combine her love for activity and desire to have a profession that she was passionate about. She received her Master’s in Physical Therapy in Denver, CO in 1998. She moved back to New England in 2001 and has been practicing as a full time physical therapist in Burlington, VT. Her bucket list goal of qualifying for and running in the Boston Marathon was reached in 2012, but her body needed more of a balance from all the years of repetition and injury. She craved an exercise outlet that would bring her body into more planes of motion and that she would enjoy. She found exactly that when she took her first Piper class at Burlington Yoga. Piper’s attention and cueing to precise alignment in the asanas immediately roped her in and she recently completed the 200 hour teacher training program at Burlington Yoga in December 2012. Yoga was the perfect fit for her, both in body and mind, and she is eager to share this with others. Her background and training in human anatomy and function combined with her passion to help others has led her to teach the human anatomy portion of the yoga teacher training program/workshop here at Burlington Yoga.
