Emily began practicing yoga 20 years ago in Boulder, Colorado while attending Naropa University for Counseling Psychology. She fell in love with yoga in Richard Freeman's class at the Yoga Workshop. After years of studying with various teachers in the ashtanga, kripalu and anusara traditions,
Emily came to Burlington Yoga in 2005. She was attracted to Piper's attention to alignment, the integrity of her practice and her devotion to the Tantric Hatha tradition. Emily has been a student and practitioner of Vajrayana Buddhism for over ten years, emphasizing non-duality and the sacredness in everyday life.
As a runner and psychotherapist, Emily has taught workshops on Sakyong Mipham's book "Running with the Mind of Meditation" and "Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for Depression". Emily is in private practice at Eastern View Integrative Medicine and is interested in the ways that synchronizing mind and body lead to healing. She has experienced the transformative power of working with yoga and mindfulness in her own life and is excited to share this with others.
