Prostrations are an ancient practice of yoga that combines movement, mantra and mindfulness in a full body gesture of reverence and surrender. It is a foundational practice of Tantra and Buddhism for dissolving tensions, negative emotions and limiting self-concepts.
As an integration practice, it quickly and completely brings the mind and body together as one. Performed in a state of flowing presence it combines aspects of classical sun salutes into one continuous movement- on the wood floor using knee pads and socks on the hands.
The workshop will include an explanation of the practice and how it is performed (including less strenuous options), a led practice of 108 prostrations, and a final cooling and integration period. Please let us know if you need to borrow knee pads.
Open to all levels and abilities. No experience required.
There are a thousand ways to kneel and kiss the ground.
