Summer is the season of heat, vibrant energy and the fire element. Days are longer, the sun is stronger, and our lives are full of movement, activities and events. Although, in the cold and grey days of winter, we eagerly await this bountiful time of year, it is important to restore balance with cooling and calming practices to find ease in the body and mind.
Ayurveda, the sister science to Yoga, understands summer to be the season of Pitta dosha, or the fire and water elements. Pitta is responsible for movement, transformation, and heat in the body and mind. With the accumulation of the fire element throughout the summer, we can feel agitated, irritable and over-heated. A Yoga practice that pacifies Pitta encourages cooling, moderation and surrender.
This gentle cooling practice will include some guided meditations, intention setting and some self-soothing practices to build into your daily routine.
All levels welcome
