Anna Riley (YT-500) Anna discovered yoga through an Iyengar yoga book of her mother’s while in high school, and began to play with alignment and holding postures. Her first yoga class was in college where she learned about sequencing and the stress-relief that guided yoga could offer. Since then, Anna has pursued the mental clarity and energetic connection found in the grounding quality of yoga asana and breathwork.
Anna completed her 200-hour training at Breathing Room yoga in Portland, Maine, and went on to her 300-hour training with Liz Heffernan of the Soma Yoga Institute in White River Junction, Vermont in 2015. Through her training, Anna reveled in the vast world of yoga philosophy, anatomy, and the subtle body, which she weaves into the fabric of her classes in the pursuit of a greater connection to one’s inner beauty, strength and knowledge.
Anna met her husband at Burlington Yoga in 2014, and has recently moved back with her family to raise their young son. She is excited to offer classes at BY and to meet and learn from all the students who choose to practice together there.
