Cassie van Stolk-Cooke (RYT-200) began practicing yoga in 2010 while attending Barnard College of Columbia University. After several years of practice in New York City, Cassie found Burlington Yoga when she moved to Vermont to obtain a doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
Cassie has conducted research in substance use, trauma exposure, chronic stress, and technology-based therapeutic interventions. Through her clinical training program, Cassie also works with private clients experiencing depression, anxiety, and other stressors, providing empirically-supported treatments that often integrate mindfulness principles.
Through her teacher training at Burlington Yoga under Candra Prabha, Cassie found a union of her professional and personal passions for mind and body wellness. Burlington Yoga’s commitment to principles of alignment resonated with her as a means to allow all yogis to deepen their practice and challenge their bodies at their own pace. In her classes, Cassie strives to convey the joy, athleticism, and respect for the self that are so intrinsic to yoga.
