Jared is passionate about helping his students reach their health & wellness goals. He has been therapeutically massaging since 2008 and practicing yoga since 2010. He discovered yoga after meeting a lot of massage therapy clients with yoga related injuries. In an attempt to learn more about how their injuries developed and methods for assisting recovery, he began his study of yoga. Jared was irrevocably hooked after his first savasana. The inner peace experienced while laying still (for seemingly the first time ever) was shockingly transformative!
Jared began his studies of yoga in the styles of Ashtanga and Vinyasa. After a few years he shifted his focus to Myofascial Restorative Yoga as his primary style; generally speaking it feels like a therapeutic massage/meditation that you give to yourself. The variety of results that Myofascial Restorative Yoga can deliver is powerful; we can relieve accumulated stress, calm anxiety/irritability, increase range of motion, relax incessant mental chatter, etc.
In 2015 Jared completed his 200-hour yoga teacher training at Asheville Yoga Center in order to learn how to ‘massage a room’, not just one person at a time. This led to incorporating foam rollers and tennis ball props into his classes, which more fully provides a self-massage experience. Jared strongly believes that our best teacher is within ourselves and learning to hear the ‘inner guide’ is at the root of sustainability. To learn advanced techniques for communicating this message, Jared began his 600-hour yoga therapy training with Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy and is expected to complete in Oct. 2018!
