Rhiannon Kim (E-RYT-500) has been teaching at Burlington Yoga since she completed her 200 Hour Teacher Training in 2012. She is continually deepening her study and experience of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness: attending workshops and retreats with Dr. Vasant Lad, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Piper/Candra Prabha. She complete her 500 Hour Teacher Training at Burlington Yoga in 2018.
She teaches courses in Mindfulness and Mindfulness Based Practices at the University of Vermont and St. Michael's College, and embeds this work into her speech and language pathology practice. Her work focuses on fostering self-compassion, self-care, self-awareness, and an outward expansion of these heart-centered practices. Additional professional development includes: trauma-informed educational practices, mindfulness-based practices, engaging active learners, and understanding cultural values and differences.
Rhiannon's classes are lighthearted, focused and encouraging; offering modifications along the way to ensure an accessible practice for all. Her style of teaching is influenced and inspired by Piper (Candra Prabha) and has been described as intentional, calm, and mindful of body, breath and emotion.
