E-RYT 500, Myofascial Release therapist, bodywork teacher
Robina Winkler began traveling at an early age. It was these experiences that brought her to a curiosity about the ancient healing modalities that existed within the culture surrounding her. While living abroad in Tokyo she met her first master. She studied Taoist philosophy, za-zen meditation, and Tao yoga, and was certified to teach after years of practice. From there she found Vinyasa Yoga, and began to dive deeply into pranayama and study of yogic philosophy. After completing her 200 RYT training her teacher encouraged her to go on to study with his teacher in the art of Ashtanga Yoga.
Robina quickly connected with the practice of Ashtanga since the first opening chant. After years of daily practice Robina began assisting her teacher in the Mysore room. She went on to apprentice and teach with several certified teachers within Canada and the U.S. She approaches Ashtanga with an open mind, and draws safe inspiration from the lineage.
A never ending thirst to learn led Robina to study many healing art forms. She holds a certificate for various forms of yoga as well as a license to practice massage therapy and certificates in Myofascial Release Therapy, Structural Integration, Thai massage, and Reiki. She has a private bodywork practice that focuses on somatic healing that influences her style of teaching.
Robina has been practicing and teaching internationally for almost ten years and is enthusiastic about sharing her practice. She remains a student as much as a teacher and views each interaction as an opportunity to learn.
Robina teaches modern vinyasa with traditional roots. She honors her intention to share Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga, while also encouraging creativity and fluid movement. Her classes are focused on connecting mind and body to gain deeper understanding of Self.
