This workshop is slow and mellow with long, comfortable holds focusing on reducing stress through restorative/therapeutic postures and deep yogic breathing. As you are held in each pose, you will be lead through a guided awareness to deepen relaxation, and help shift patterns of holding, tension, resistance, and your relationship to those patterns.
Restorative Yoga is an excellent practice for restoring the body, to slow down and undo the effects of stress, after injury, illness, over-doing, or simply to relax. This class is designed with balanced sequences that allow the body to open at its own pace. Using various props such as bolsters, pillows, blankets, blocks and straps, postures are maintained without effort. This creates a sense of comfort, grounding, and of being completely held and supported. The body moves toward a natural state of balance and ease, and the mind rests in open awareness.
This class is ideal for anyone dealing with anxiety, depression, and a lifestyle of over-doing. Students leave feeling deeply rejuvenated and refreshed.
