This 60 min class is slow and mellow with long, comfortable holds focusing on reducing stress through mindful awareness and relaxation techniques. As postures are held, you will be led through a guided awareness to deepen relaxation, attune to the breath, and help shift patterns of holding, tension, and resistance.
Restorative Yoga is an excellent practice for nurturing the body, calming the mind, and undoing the effects of stress, injury, illness, over-doing, or simply to relax. This class is designed with balanced sequences to allow the body to open at its own pace. The postures are maintained with little or no effort using various props such as bolsters, pillows, blankets, blocks, straps, and chairs. The body moves toward a natural state of balance and ease, and the mind rests in the moment-to-moment experience.
This class is ideal for anyone dealing with anxiety, depression, recovery, and a lifestyle of over-doing. Students leave feeling deeply rejuvenated and refreshed. All props provided. Open to all.
