Taught by Richard Powell

Ayurveda is the ancient healing system from India that has much in common with Yoga. Indeed, the two are often called sister sciences as they both share the goals of increasing health and peace.

Where Yoga is more focused on one's inner reality, Ayurveda focuses more on the external world and physical health. Ayurveda translates as the "science of life" and as the name implies, it gives us a complete understanding of how to navigate life and empowers us to make better food, health, and lifestyle choices.

In this two-hour class, you will learn the most important components of Ayurveda and, most important, how to apply them immediately to your life to find new levels of health, purpose, and vibrancy.

Richard G. Powell (Dhyanananda) is an E-RYT 500 and an Ayurvedic Physician who has studied extensively under Dr. Vasant Lad both in the U.S and in India. Richard furthered his studies of Ayurveda under Dr. Ashwin Shastry of Arogya Niketana in Karnataka, India. He is currently enrolled in an advanced clinical studies under Kashyapa Fisher at the Arogya Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Additionally, Richard practices Jyotisha / Vedic Astrology, teaches Sanskrit and Vedic Philosophy and is a student of the Japanese martial art Aikido. He shares his comprehensive healing experience and enthusiasm for health with his students and clients and empowers them to find a healthier way of living and expand their spiritual practice.
