Most people have experienced back pain at some point whether due to injury, poor posture, repetitive motions or sitting. A regular yoga practice can help with releasing tension, restoring muscle balance and enhanced body awareness both on and off the mat.
This full-body yoga workshop will focus on the sensations and needs of the lower back. The class will be sequenced to warm the body, stablize and strengthen the core and then restore aligment with targeted asanas to ease tension in the lower back and ancillary areas like the hips, glutes and hamstrings.
Students will learn basic anatomy of the lower back, simple modifications to make postures feel more accessible, and slow breath-directed movements to create safe transitions. You will leave the workshop with tools to strengthen, release and restore balance for your back health.
This class is appropriate for all levels, but is not a replacement for professional advice for back pain.
